Tram Expansion in Gothenburg: TOR_simplex and GRS Used in the City Centre

 –

A proven KRAIBURG STRAIL system combination is once again supporting urban track construction in Gothenburg. As part of the expansion of the city-centre tram network, the STRAILastic TOR_simplex track damping system and the GRS Track Frame Support were installed for a continuously supported track frame system.

The combination brings together two key requirements for modern urban track construction: precise installation and effective noise and vibration control, combined with an efficient installation process.

  • STRAILastic TOR_simplex: This track damping system, made of high-quality rubber, provides effective stray current insulation while helping to reduce structure-borne noise and vibrations. This is particularly valuable in densely built-up urban areas, where reducing noise emissions from tram operations is an important consideration.
  • GRS Track Frame Support: GRS enables fast and precise height adjustment of the track frames, helping installation teams achieve the required alignment efficiently and keep the construction process moving.

A Strong Partnership for Urban Infrastructure

Projects in complex urban environments require close coordination between products, installation teams and project partners. This project in Gothenburg is another example of how well-coordinated system solutions can support efficient and precise track construction. We would like to thank our customer Honk & Sandström Consulting AB and our partner Christian Berner AB for their professional, smooth and successful cooperation on site.
