TOR
Flexible track damping system for grooved rails in urban and suburban transport
STRAILastic_TOR is a proven track insulation system for grooved rails that reliably isolates stray current and reduces noise emissions. It is widely used in urban environments and in direct rail support constructions. Its design and specialised geometry allow flexible adaptation to different sleeper spacings and track superstructure types. The vulcanised rubber joint permanently replaces conventional joint sealing compounds, significantly reducing long-term maintenance requirements.

Noise reduction and stray current insulation in urban track construction
The TOR system has been specifically developed for use in local transit and urban tram networks, where grooved rails often run in close proximity to buildings and utility infrastructure. By combining vibration damping with electrical insulation, TOR not only reduces structure-borne noise and vibration, but also reliably protects surrounding infrastructure from stray current damage. The decoupled system design is particularly advantageous in mixed-traffic environments or areas with sensitive adjacent structures.

Technical advantages during installation and operation
The flexibly adaptable geometry allows installation in a wide range of track superstructure designs. The vulcanised rubber elements extending up to to the top of rail remain dimensionally stable even under thermal expansion and permanently replace maintenance-intensive joint sealing solutions. The system is also suitable for complex track layouts, such as junction areas or stop installations. TOR therefore provides a robust, operationally reliable solution for urban transit operators requiring effective track insulation, safety and durability in demanding transport environment.
