The mini noise barrier – effective noise control with unobstructed visibility
The mSW 360 is an innovative mini noise barrier designed for railway lines. Thanks to its extremely low height, it can be installed very close to the noise source – directly alongside the rail. This reduces noise emissions exactly where they are generated while maintaining clear, unobstructed views of the surroundings. The mini noise barrier is ideally suited for urban rail corridors, residential areas and environmentally sensitive landscapes. The modules are made from durable rubber with an absorptive acoustic surface and are mounted directly to the sleeper heads without the need for foundations.

After 45 years of closure, Nordhorn was reconnected to passenger transport. In order to protect local residents and recreational areas along the reactivated line, Bentheimer Eisenbahn AG opted for a combination of three STRAILwave noise protection products: rail web dampers, IP and the mSW 360 mini noise barrier. Planning, organization and installation were successfully completed in just a few weeks.

The mSW 360 is especially suitable for railway lines where conventional noise barriers cannot be installed due to urban planning or landscape constraints. In densely built residential areas, at stops or in open sections requiring visual continuity, the mini noise barrier mounted directly next to the rail acts at the source without impacting sightlines or the cityscape.
