IP of the STRAILwave product range is a highly absorbent infill panel for railings along railway lines. This robust noise barrier is used to insulate airborne noise and performs particularly well in exposed locations. IP can be easily integrated into existing railing systems thanks to a vulcanized fastening rail. The system offers a space-saving option for effective noise reduction, particularly on bridges and retaining walls.

After 45 years of closure, Nordhorn was reconnected to passenger transport. In order to protect local residents and recreational areas along the reactivated line, Bentheimer Eisenbahn AG opted for a combination of three STRAILwave noise protection products: rail web dampers, IP and the mSW 360 mini noise barrier. Planning, organization and installation were successfully completed in just a few weeks.
Supplementary noise protection for bridge structures and noise hotspots
The IP noise protection panels from the STRAILwave product line are specifically designed for railway sections where conventional noise barriers reach their limits. This applies, for example, to bridges or railings over roads or waterways. Despite their low mounting height, the panels are particularly effective in noise-sensitive residential or mixed-use areas with increased sound dispersion. The IP provides effective reduction of airborne noise close to the source.
Technical integration in confined spaces
The robust rubber construction with integrated mounting rail allows for fast, space-optimized installation directly into existing railing systems—without foundations and with minimal assembly effort.
This makes IP ideal for retrofitting on existing tracks, refurbished bridges, or constrained retaining wall sections.
The panels meet standard requirements for weather and UV resistance and can optionally be supplied with printed aluminum plates, for example, for visual design or safety-related markings.
