Project description
In the area of the Tecuci Nord stop on the Faurei-Tecuci railway line, there are two level crossings directly behind each other. This section is considered a critical crossing as it connects the junction with the important national road in Tecuci with the crossing railway line and has a high volume of traffic.
As part of the track renewal, it was decided to modernize these two level crossings. The local conditions placed high demands on the material:
- High volume of traffic (road and rail)
- Demanding crossing angle of 70°
- Significant track superelevation of 35 mm
To meet these conditions, a combination of ponti 713 outer panels, for maximum robustness, and the tried and tested strail inner panels was chosen. The entire modernization project – including the installation of the level crossing systems as well as the track and road renewal – was carried out extremely efficiently. The work was carried out in just two days, with the road completely closed and rail operations suspended.
With the installation of the ponti and strail systems, a durable, low-maintenance and traffic-safe solution was created at one of the most critical traffic junctions in Tecuci. The fast construction time of just two days minimized traffic disruption and demonstrated the high installation efficiency of the chosen systems.
