Project description
In Ulm, SWU Verkehr GmbH took on a particularly complex track refurbishment project that required materials offering outstanding flexibility and absolute reliability. Their solution of choice: the tried and tested STRAILastic system SOK_simplex with an integrated rail frame support.
- The project site: A highly complex track section featuring an underpass, an 8% descending gradient, and an 8% ascending gradient.
- The standout feature: The ascending track also included a tight curve with the required superelevation.
- The challenge: The difficult track conditions were made even more difficult by the summer temperatures and the associated risk of track warping during installation.
Despite these extreme requirements and the difficult conditions, our STRAILastic_SOK_simplex system was installed without any issues. The project clearly demonstrates the reliable performance and exceptional flexibility of our system – even in the most demanding urban infrastructure environments.
