STRAILgrid panels were used on the border with Poland for a measure to contain swine fever organised by the Vorpommern-Greifswald Veterinary and Food Monitoring Office. A total of 17 m² was laid over the tracks and the neighbouring embankment. The STRAILgrid panels serve as a supplementary measure to the neighbouring protective fences.

The installation with the company B+O Plan GmbH was completed in less than two hours. Afterwards, a person stopper pass (similar to the familiar level crossing pass) with all relevant information was created for the installation and handed over to the plant manager.

STRAILgrid panels are very flexible in use, can be customised to local conditions and can be installed without the use of machinery. The system has general approval from the German Federal Railway Authority for line speeds of up to 160 km/h.
