AT A GLANCE
Despite the existing access ban, pedestrians and cyclists were repeatedly using the Pont du Canal and Pont du Rhône railway bridges as crossings. As this represented a considerable source of danger, the city of Sion looked for a solution to this problem.
To minimise the risk of accidents, STRAILgrid panels were installed at both ends. The STRAILgrid panels, with their many irregularly arranged rubber pyramid tips of different heights, act as a deterrent and prevent people and animals from entering the track area without interfering with train traffic.
The STRAILgrid panels can be customised to the conditions on site and installed and removed quickly.

Pont du Rhône before the STRAILgrid panels were installed, pedestrians and cyclists were able to cross the bridge unhindered

Pont du Rhône after installation of the STRAILgrid panels, it is no longer possible to walk on it.

Pont du Canal after installation of the STRAILgrid panels, it is no longer possible to walk on it.
