AT A GLANCE
The busy two-lane water tower bridge in Luxembourg City is not only used by cars and trucks, but also by trams. Two tracks run down the centre of the bridge for this purpose. In order to allow emergency vehicles access to the tracks, the area of the tram tracks was lined with innoSTRAIL level crossing panels from STRAIL. The panels had to be cut precisely to size for this. A derailment protection groove was also integrated into the innoSTRAIL panels for both tracks. This prevents a derailing tram from running into road traffic.
